The UN Human Rights Council (HRC) said the UK must "consider holding a referendum on the desirability or otherwise of a written constitution, preferably republican".
The council has 29 members including Saudi Arabia, Cuba and Sri Lanka.
It was the Sri Lankan envoy who raised concerns over the British monarchy.
Yes the same HRC that condemns Israel for it's abuses yet routinely ignores Sudan's genocide, Iran's executions of gays and Saudi Arabia's treatment of woman and foreigners that aren't Muslim. They stated Britain needs to have a written constitution (which I doubt any of the aforementioned countries even have) and should hold a referendum on whether the public wants a monarchy. I'm sure the citizens of Iran would like a vote to see whether or not they want to be ruled by Islamic extremists, or the citizens of Cuba would love to be able to voice their own opinions about the wonders socialism and what it has done for their countries (here's a hint, they can't).
This is why I love the UN. They take the time to tackle the real issues in the world.
The UN is a waste of time and money and is irrelevant in today's society. We should kick them out of the US and pull out, then the organizations loses what legitimacy they have left.
