The eagles had their first game on Saturday.  We lost by three trys.  I actually forgot what the final score was but it was six tries to three.  I am not sure how many conversions were made.

 Even though it was a loss, I felt the played well for a team and as never played together and most of the people have never played league either.  Man of the match went to Chops, who made some huge hits and was a scrappy player.  He'll fit in well in the game and the team.

Tomorrow the Eagles make their AMNRL debut against the DC Slayers.  Keep in mind some of the players played for other clubs, but as a whole, this is our first game.  Here is the details:

Fairfax Eagles home games will be played at Stratton Woods Park in Reston, Virginia.  The field is located at 2431 Fox Mill Road. 

Directions are as follows:

From Fairfax - Route 50 west, take Fairfax County Parkway north (Route 7100), turn left on Fox Mill Road, turn right into Stratton Woods Park.  Total distance 10 miles, estimated time 20 minutes +/-. 

From Washington DC - Route 66 west, take Fairfax County Parkway north via exit 55 (Route 7100), turn left on Fox Mill Road, turn right into Stratton Woods Park.  Total distance 22 miles, estimated time 30 minutes +/-. 

From all points north of Washington DC - Route 95 south, take Route 495 west (Capital Beltway) via exit 27, take Route 267 west (toll road) via exit 45A, take Fairfax County Parkway south (Route 7100) via exit 11, turn right on Fox Mill Road, turn right into Stratton Woods Park.  Total distance from Philadelphia  160 miles, estimated time 3 hours +/-. 

When: Kick-off at 6:15 PM Saturday June 7th, 2008.  After party at Buffalo Wings House right after the game.  PBR Specials and good times will following.

Why:  Because rugby league kicks ass!

Dallaglio has given England 15 years and finally retired last week after the London Wasps beat the Leicester Tigers 26-16 and once again hoisted the Guinness Premiership trophy. It was a classic final played in front of 80,000 and watched by millions. Dallaglio was a member of both the 2003 England RWC team that won the world cup and the 2007 England RWC team that were runners-up to those Bokkie Bastards. Here is a tribute:
