Obama Supports Earmark to Housing Bill that Creates National Fingerprint Registry

June 9, 2008 14:02 by Dain

I wonder where all the anti-Patriot Act people are now?  So many times on sites like Digg, Broaband Reports, Washington Post and others I've heard about how it's horrible the government tap phone lines to listen to possible terrorists.  Now that the Obama messiah has sponsored a bill that earmarked this legislation in what will the civil liberty types say now?  I'm waiting.....

Interestingly enough, this was passed by the Senate Banking Committee 19-2 before the Memorial Day recess, so it isn't new.  Why hasn't this been reported?  To me this isn't indicative of what a free nation is supposed to be.   The citizens on the UK have already given up their rights to privacy and freedom by allowing their government to create an all encompassing surveillance state with their cameras on every street corner.   Are we next?

I would like to say I'm surprised someone from the GOP would vote on this bill let alone co-sponsor it, but alas I'm not.

I also saw a little interesting clip on how Obama conducted his politics while in Chicago.  So much for "Change"...
